In an effort to stop “selfie adventurists” Dubai Municipality has issued a circular asking all owners and those in charge of public facilities and buildings to provide health and safety requirements to ensure the safety of the public.

In the document cited by state news agency WAM, Hussain Nasser Lootah, director-general of Dubai Municipality has urged building owners to provide security and surveillance around the clock to prevent unauthorised persons from infiltrating parts of buildings such as roofs and high beams.

The news comes roughly a week after Russian Dmitry Chernysh and his friend made it to the very top of Millennium Tower in Dubai Marina.

Various pictures of the stunt have been posted on his Instagram account along with a video on YouTube.

Chernysh and his friend are the latest “selfie adventurists” in Dubai, this past January, 23-year-old Russian model Viktoria Odintcova made it to the top of the 73 storey Cayan Tower. She got a call from the cops soon after.

Infamous British climber James Kingston wasn’t as lucky – he was arrested earlier this month for filming himself climbing cranes and other buildings in the emirate. Fortunately for him, he was released just one day later.
