KT Tunstall Live
Acclaimed Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall will be in Dubai as part of her world tour, put together to support Kin, her fifth studio album which was released last year. For this gig, though, she ditches the band in favour of an intimate acoustic show, so you can hear hits such as Ivor Novello Award-winning song “Suddenly I See” in its rawest form.

The Scene
The beloved culinary hub in Pier 7 is celebrating its third birthday this Friday (November 3) and being the generous venue that it is, it’s treating guests to 50 percent off on food and drinks all day long. That’s right, you’ll get 50 percent off the venue’s breakfast, lunch, roast and drinks menu. That’s not all, your first drink will cost you just AED3 – not bad. The outdoor terrace is a nice added bonus.

Amalfi BBQ at Palazzo Versace Dubai
The poolside bar has launched a barbeque menu and, we love it. Not just because it comes just in time for winter but because the food is genuinely good, the service is great and the outdoor pool is stunning. Now that we’re done proclaiming our love for the laid-back outdoor venue, here’s what’s on the menu. Starters include watermelon and baby squid salad as well as guacamole and Greek salad. Mains range from moreish lobster to lamb chops to Waygu beef burgers. For dessert, the chocolate ice-cream is great as is the raspberry sorbet. DJ Niro will be providing the tunes.

Thor: Ragnarok (15)
In Norse mythology, Ragnarok is cataclysmic rebirthing in which the world is flooded and only two human survivors emerge. It also spells the end for Thor and his brother Loki. That, in essence, tells you all you need to know about the third instalment of Marvel Studio’s Thor franchise, which again sees Chris Hemsworth don the cape, grab the hammer and frown his way through a number of unlikely action sequences. Cate Blanchett, Mark Ruffalo, Jeff Goldblum and Tom Hiddleston also star.
In cinemas from November 2
