Jennifer Lopez
The singer-turned-actor-turned-TV-host returns to what she does best with another live show in Dubai, a city that also welcomed her in 2014 and 2012. One thing is guaranteed with the now 48 year-old – amazing, right? – is that she knows how to put on a show, which anyone at the previous concerts will confirm. Choreography, costume changes, lights… J-Lo always throws everything into it.

ShortList Nightlife Awards Afterparty
Mingle with the winners, nominees and maybe a few stars at our first ever ShortList Nightlife Awards. Once all the awards have been handed out, the party opens up to the public and a regular Thursday night at BASE – although there’s not too much regular about this one as there are rumours that the one and only Jenny from the Block will be making an appearance later on. You won’t want to miss that, right? To come to the awards bit, which is sponsored by BASE, Uber, Red Bull and 800 Tickets, you’ll need to reserve, although space is limited and is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

DP World Tour Championships
There was a time when Dubai was synonymous with golf – to the extent that the European Tour’s order of merit competition was officially rebranded as The Race to Dubai. While the sport isn’t quite the all-consuming passion here it once was, there’s no doubt that the UAE remains incredibly important to its aspirational status and commercial bankability. We’re reminded of it again as the curtain comes down on another European season and the continent’s leading players head for Jumeirah Golf Estates for some sunshine and maybe a few more dollars before Christmas. In terms of the race, only two men can win it at the time of going to press: Englishmen Tommy Fleetwood – who is about to extend his lead in South Africa – and Justin Rose, whose late-season flourish has made things interesting. There’s more than just golf, though, with plenty of al fresco entertainment and activations to please everyone.
