Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens
The last of November’s sporting trifecta comes to the Sevens Stadium this weekend, a three-day rugby bonanza that now traditionally sits astride UAE National Day. This has become one of the key events on the calendar and, following the DP World Tour Championship and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, keeps the UAE in the international sporting spotlight for a third straight weekend. The Dubai Rugby Sevens is the traditional start of the 10-stop World Series, which was won last year by South Africa (men) and New Zealand (women), but includes an ever-expanding roster of competitive teams – Scotland and Canada won tournaments last year, for instance. It’s also a huge community event with teams from schools, clubs and veterans all taking part in a party atmosphere.

Where: The Sevens Stadium Dubai
Price: From AED300

National Day Parade
The city’s annual parade will see a convoy of cars and vehicles decked in UAE colours complete a round of Downtown. Bring a camera.

5D/7D cinema experience at the Dubai Dolphinarium
If you fancy getting lost in an unrealistic adventure then this virtual experience is for you. If you’re a bit confused as to what 5D/7D is, allow us to enlighten you. It’s basically 3D footage combined with a variety of physical effects which allow you to become a part of the action – you get to shot targets, get splashed by water and can actually feel the wind blow – it’s like a 4D VOX cinema experience only this time, you get to shot stuff. Tickets start from just AED25 per person.
