Market Outside the Box
Dubai Shopping Festival welcomes the return of Market Outside the Box – the unique retail pop-up that will be the temporary home of the most talented independent retailers and designers in the region. Now in its fifth year, the free event at Burj Park will run until January 20 and offers visitors the chance to get their hands on some truly original gifts. 120 designers will showcase their wares that includes everything from textiles, furnishings and jewellery to nutritional meal plans and pieces of one-off artwork. If shopping isn’t your thing you’ll still be able to enjoy an outdoor cinema, hip-hop performances and tunes from the DJ on the day.

The Backyard Movie Night
This Business Bay hotspot will be airing classics such as Pretty Woman and Breakfast at Tiffany’s, every Tuesday for just AED75 per person. This week’s film is Grease. If you’re not a fan of the musical, you might like the venue’s view of the Burj Khalifa.

The Ultimate Sports Quiz
The first round of this mega quiz will see sports fans from across the city battle it out for their chance to win two return tickets to New York as well as a stash of food and drinks vouchers for your troubles. To enter, all you have to do is gather six of your mates, do some homework and head to the venue. Be warned, it’s an 11 week challenge that will see one team crowned as the champions during the finale on April 8.

Giant Dreamcatchers Workshop
For AED600, you can create your very own dreamcatcher. Sorry, “giant” dreamcatcher. While we can’t guarantee that good dreams will be caught in its web and transported to you via its feathers, we do think that you will have a great time making them during the three hour-long workshop. Be sure to register and note that a 50 percent deposit is required.

DJ Nasty at BASE Dubai
Hip-hop producer and long-time music scene collaborator, DJ Nasty is playing a unique set this weekend. The US star is part of a duo with his brother, LVM, but this solo performance will no doubt feature the tracks that the pair worked on with the likes of DJ Khaled, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne and Ludacris. It’s bound to be an eclectic mix of banging tunes.
