Android users in Dubai can now pay for parking with Nol cards
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has just introduced a new way to pay for parking in the city.
From now, Android users can use their nol card to pay for their parking spot.
The initiative should put an end to the infamous change struggle – nothing like walking around with pockets filled with coins or worse popping into nearly every single shop looking for change...
Right, here's a bit more on how it works...
- To avail the service, Android users need to download the RTA app and create an account.
- Tap the nol card on the app to top up your e-parking purse.
- The amount can then used to pay for parking around the city. Unlike the SMS transactions, the app saves users the additional AED30 fil transaction fee.
If you do not have a car, we have some good news for you too. Especially if you live in Al Barsha or Al Warqaa.
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has rolled out a trial run of its ‘Bus on Demand’ initiative as an innovative solution for the first and last mile challenges faced by public transport users in those two areas.
The trial run will see six 18-seater buses operate on flexible routes and schedules. Passengers living in these areas will be able to identify their location and track the bus arrival times. Similarly, bus drivers will know the service demand through the app as well and will accordingly reach the nearest points.
