Dubai to get new a dancing fountain

Published

We love a good water show. So much so that we’ve seen almost every show that the Dubai Fountain has in its playset, at least five times. We’re also massive fans of the one at Dubai Festival City, it’s got a cool light show too, for those who haven’t been down to see it yet.

So, naturally we were pretty excited to hear that The Palm Jumeirah is getting its very own.

Spanning across 12,000 square metres, the US$18 million fountain forms part of the area’s new entertainment and dining destination, The Pointe.

Speaking on the news, the CEO of Nakheel Ali Rashid Lootah said: “Today’s signing is a major milestone for The Pointe, as it means work on its centrepiece – the fountain – is now underway, and we are one step closer to delivering this eagerly-anticipated destination.”

So are we.

While we wait for the attraction that is set to open before the end of the year, here are three indoor activities to try  – because it’s far too hot to be outside and anyone who tells you otherwise is wrong or is speaking to you from their heated swimming pool – sup, Susan?

Ski Dubai

Ski Dubai, is of course the first indoor ski resort in the Middle East and since it opened in 2005 has been offering residents and tourists one of the most unique experiences in the region. It features a number of ski slopes, a ski school and opportunities to get up close and personal with real life penguins.
