Eid Al-Fitr 2018: Shawwal moon sighted in Jebel Hafeet

The UAE’s moon sighting committee will officially make the announcement later this evening

According to International Astronomical Centre, the Shawwal moon has been sighted in Jebel Hafeet, Al Ain. 

This means Eid Al Fitr will most probably begin tomorrow, Friday, June 15.

However, the UAE’s moon sighting committee will officially make the announcement later this evening after the magreb prayers. 

Should a crescent moon be spotted, the first day of  Eid al-Fitr will be on Friday, June 15.

If a new moon is not spotted, Eid al-Fitr will start on Saturday, June 16.
