The Middle East’s biggest gaming event returns to Dubai this weekend with its boldest line-up yet.

Games Arabia descends on the World Trade Centre with the year’s hottest games available to play before they’re out in the shops.

The show will also play host to live entertainment performances from local artists, special celebrity guest appearances and much more.

And because we’re good to you, we’ve put together a list of how you can get involved in it all.

1. Try new games
Well, obviously. If all the games were readily available, then what would be the point in attending, right? Cherry-picking from a vast list of playable games you’ll be able to get hands-on with, we think FIFA 18, Call of Duty: World War II, NBA 2K18 and the Lord of the Rings inspired, Shadow of War are the ones to rush to first.

2. Watch an eSports tournament
Did you know that eSports is the fastest growing sport in the world right now? Well it is, and it’s soon to be a billion dollar industry. They even show it on OSN Sports. So if you’re heading to the show, stop by and watch these cyber athletes go toe-to-toe… or thumb-to-thumb. The cat-like reflexes and laser-eyed accuracy of these players have to be seen to be believed.

3. Do the cosplay thing
With a AED10,000 prize up for grabs for the best one, you can expect to see a host of outstanding costumes on display. Cosplayers spend untold hours carefully crafting their outfits to look like their virtual heroes, so the least you can do is stop and have a picture taken with them.

4. Meet a WWE star
In true WWE fashion, the identity of the special guest is being kept a secret by the organisers. But what we do know is that one of the superstars will show up to wow the crowds with their bulging biceps, witty one-liners and impossibly white teeth.

5. Scoop up free stuff
As with every event of this kind, there’ll be a whole load of free gaming tat to pick up and take home. Posters, stickers, key-rings – you get the idea. But for the price of admission – AED75 – you’re automatically entered into a draw for the chance to win tickets to Spain to watch Barcelona vs Real Madrid (AKA El Clásico). Not bad.
