Jason Byrne The Man With Three Brains Live
The hyperactive Irish funnyman brings his unique brand of energetic stand-up to Dubai this week. The comedian and radio personality has an energetic and infectious style that’s packed full of improvised bits and self-depricating humour. It all combines to create a show that’s bound to keep you chuckling long after the gig has finished. Tickets are AED120 and it’s for over 21s only.

The Illusionists: Best of Broadway
Prepare for your mind to be blown this week, as The Illusionists return to Dubai for a set of outstanding shows at the Madinat Theatre. It features seven of the very best illusionists around who come together for an evening of death-defying stunts, levitation showcases and mind-reading feats with members of the live audience. It will also feature an escape artist and a magician plying their trade on stage, while you sit, slack-jawed at the wonders taking place before your eyes. It really is a superb show.

Nawal Al Zoghbi at Dragon Mart 2
Lebanese star Nawal Al Zoghbi will grace us with her musical talents for one-night only this weekend. The songstress will play a set full of fan-favourite tunes  such as “Balaee Fi Zamany” and “Alou” that have helped her sell over 40 million albums throughout the years. Oh, and it’s free, too.

Leyla Ghobadi Exhibit at Moe’s on the 5th
The street and mixed media artist from Montreal, Canada, brings her unique art exhibition to Moe’s on the 5th. Fresh from her sell-out show at this year’s Comicon Middle East, it will be packed full of the bespoke works Ghobadi is gaining a worldwide audience for. Her work has even appeared in the Graffik Gallery alongside the likes of Banksy.

White Collar Boxing
Back for its 19th edition, this season sees a group of hopeful coroperates take to a boxing ring and battle it out in front of fellow suits. The night’s competitors include Lawrence ‘the Machine’ Coward, a 28 year old business development executive working with the Transguard Group, Stuart ‘The Sledgehammer’ Rodgers, a South African construction project manager working with Plafond Fit Out, SME owner, Kyle Baker, Chris ‘The Riddler’ Ridley, group sale and marketing director of an oil and gas company and tech company managing director Kareem ‘The Money’ Monem as well as Gianluca Ruggeri, a corporate pilot and more. In short, it will be night filled with great food, company and the occasional laugh.

Cinco De Mayo at Loca
Celebrate the Mexican national day in style on Saturday, May 5, with a five (yes, five) hour brunch at Loca. The Latin-American specialists are going all out for the big day, too. As well as the tasty fajitas, huervos and outstanding desserts, Loca will be putting on some fun and games for guests to enjoy. Chief of these will be the Mexican Loteria, which is a game that follows the rules of bingo. If you’re one of the lucky ones to win a game, you’ll bag yourself a mystery prize. Brunch at Mr Miyagi’s

Rock vs Classic
The UAE’s highest concert ever is back and this time it’s line up consists of Moscow’s Symphony Orchestra, former member of Chicago Bill Champlin as well as former member of TOTO Bobby Kimball and former member of Survivor Dave Bickler. The gig starts at 7.30pm on both Friday and Saturday but we advise you to get there early to watch the sunset. If you’re looking to experience a concert that is different, this is the one for you.

Groove On The Grass
See off the end of the winter season in style as Groove on the Grass’s run comes to a close this week. For those that don’t know, the festival brings the hottest best bands, DJs and performers to Emirates Golf Club for an art and music showcase. This week German DJ Apparat and Maribou State from the UK are on hand for a pumping set. They’ll be joined by Austrian band HVOB and British sensation Max Cooper. As always you can enjoy a selection of fashion and art at the marketplace, a handful of sunset games and other activities. Tickets are AED160.

80’s Night
Time to dig out your retro clothes for this night dedicated to the fluorescent decade. There are 80s themed beverages and the staff are all in fancy dress to set the tone for the rest of the evening. Zero Gravity’s electric night Ritual returns this week with international superstar and house music pioneer Oliver Heldens at the helm.
