6 things to do in Dubai this weekend
Russell Howard’s Round the World Tour
A familiar face on British TV screens, the amiable Russell Howard is a standup comic with a CV absolutely jam-packed with variety, sketch show, quiz panel and radio work in his home country.
Probably in the Michael McIntyre lane of genial, everyman comedy – the word “alternative” probably won’t be attached to him any time soon – Howard has made himself and his family the primary butt of his jokes, demonstrating a goofy line of self-deprecation that takes on some edgier angles in front of a live audience.
He is a veteran of the big comedy roadshow, too, and his three-night stay in Dubai is part of his Round The World tour – his fifth major touring production. Apparently, he has memorised the capital city of every country in the world alphabetically, which he’ll recite at the beginning of each performance. Why? No idea.
