Movie fans listen up! The Dubai Film Festival has just announced that it will be screening over 140 films that hail from an impressive 51 countries –nice.

The films will range from shorts to feature to non-fiction to fantasy and sci-fi.

As the festival is just eight days long (December 6 - December 13), we’ve shortlisted five films that we think should definitely be on your must-watch list.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi
The beloved franchise that stars Ridley Scott, Adam Driver and John Boyega, will close the 14th edition of the Dubai film Festival.

69 Minutes of 86 Days
Norwegian director Egil Håskjold Larsen is behind this touching story that shines light on the current global refugee crisis. His subject? A three year-old old girl called Lean who, along with her “Frost” backpack, is desperately trying to make it to her grandfather in Sweden.

Goodbye Christopher Robin
Starring Margot Robbie (Suicide Squad), the film directed by Simon Curtis is a period drama which gives a behind-the-scenes look at the life of Winnie-the-Pooh creator A.A. Milne and his son Christopher Robin.

Hostiles
We hear that Christian Bale could well be bagging an Oscar nomination for his performance as Captain Joseph J Blocker. Director Scott Cooper’s masterpiece is a powerful story of murder, morality and redemption set in the American Frontier in 1892.

I, Tonya
A real-life story of American figure skater Tonya Harding, the dark comedy throws light on perhaps the most sensational scandals in sporting history – a poorly executed attack on rival skater Nancy Kerrigan.

Aside from a number of impressive screenings, there will also be a few stars in attendance – wouldn’t be a film festival with a few A-listers, now would it?

Sir Patrick Stewart, Sarah Jessica Parker, Sonam Kapoor and Cate Blanchet are just a few of the stars set to make an appearance.

There’s also a number of master classes, panel discussions and free to attend events for die-hard film fans to get involved in.

We say it every year, and, we’ll say it again, we love (LOVE) the Dubai Film Festival.
