Other topics, which provide the members with useful industry expertise and information based on different industries are also covered.

Talking about the accession of the new 137 female employees from the MBC group into the council, Nadine Halabi, Business Development Manager at DBWC stated that the membership of these women will open new areas of development and growth for all the members.

Moreover, she said “DBWC believes in the need for offering opportunities, education, awareness, etc. as well as building a positive change in the lives of women. So, we don’t spare any effort to ensure that all forms of support are provided to motivate the members to become active in the society that they live in, and also help in bolstering the national economy and taking it to the future.”

She also mentioned that the collaboration between the MBC Group and DBWC is based on mutually beneficial support and knowledge exchange. The aim of the cooperation will be to empower female entrepreneurs and businesswomen by offering them the needed knowledge, skills, networking platforms, initiatives, etc. that are required for them to excel in their respective fields.

The Dubai Business Women Council was established back in 2002 under the guidance of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Since its establishment, DBWC has grown to become the leading platform for the professional as well as personal development of businesswomen in the UAE, especially in the emirate of Dubai.

Apart from Nadine Halabi, the core team of DBWC also includes Tania A. Ghoussainy, Communications & Administrative Coordinator; Michelle Silva, Membership Officer, and Dima El Assi, Partnerships & Events Coordinator.

Employed businesswomen, who live in the UAE or within the MENA region, are welcome to become a part of the collective. The council regularly conducts workshops and similar events aimed at improving the capabilities and knowledge of women to run businesses on their own.

DBWC also conducts mentorship programs aimed at helping the women in the MENA region become successful in their businesses and grow as an entrepreneur. The fifth cycle of the mentorship program called the “2023 Executive Accelerator Program” was just launched, aimed at promoting Dubai as the best destination for starting/running businesses.

The mentorship program will run for six months and will bring mentors from various business sectors to provide their respective mentees with the opportunity to learn from the experts. Mentors of the program are usually from agencies, institutions, and businesses that have existing partnerships with the DBWC.

For the fifth edition of the Executive Accelerator Program, mentors will be representatives from a list of companies including PWC (PricewaterhouseCoopers), Accenture Middle East, Edelman Middle East, American University in Dubai, Deloitte, Aramex, Be Unique Group, Dubai Land Department, and Ince & Co.
