3 restaurants to visit in Dubai this week
The ground floor of the Media One Hotel in Media City has undergone a bit of a refurb in recent weeks and it has resulted in a rather swish new bar called – appropriately enough for media types – Qwerty.
Formerly Z:ONE, this new gastro venue with a great outdoor terrace offers a daily two-for-one happy hour until 7pm and a menu packed with superior pub-grub; from British favourites such as Cornish pasties and rhubarb crumble to Asian snacks like beef satay and a nasi goreng. See you in there, probably.

Jekyll & Hyde
From the same people behind The Scene by Simon Rimmer and La Cala beach bar is new gastro pub Jekyll & Hyde. The menu is characterised by hearty British favourites and there is a stack of themed nights to keep things interesting – including Monday curry nights, “Rolling Roast” dinners on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and The Great British Brunch on Friday and Saturday.

A new brunch comes to the slick outdoor venue at The Dubai Mall. On Saturdays, the cabanas are transformed into culinary stations and spa boutiques, meaning you can hang out by the pool all afternoon eating freshly prepared shawarmas and desserts, listening to the DJ while having a foot massage.
Where: Cabana, The Address Dubai Mall
Price: AED200 per person.
