9 great burger joints to try in Dubai

BurgerFuel
Known for its huge range of burgers and quirky décor that represents a classic American petrol station, BurgerFuel is the perfect spot for those looking for a quick quality bite to eat. The ‘Smack and Cheese’ is, as its name suggests, a burgery take on mac and cheese. While meaty treats like the ‘American Muscle’ and ‘Mushroom Meltdown’ are fan favourites, the venue’s two veggie burgers ‘V Twin’ and ‘VDub’ are also a must-try.

Salt
Founded in 2013 by Amal Al Marri and Deem Albassam, Salt has managed to become one of the most loved burger joints in the city. While its location certainly adds to its popularity (it’s located on Kite beach), it’s Salt’s use of fresh produce and attention to detail that has nabbed a place in the city’s tummy. The fact that it’s also home to Dubai’s first ever lotus-flavoured milkshake and soft serve is a nice added bonus.

Shake Shack
It may be called “Shake Shack” but this all-American eatery has far more to offer than mouthwatering milkshakes. Its burgers have become just as famous as its shakes. This is partly due to their sheer size (they’re HUGE) and partly down to the range of burgers. While ‘SmokeShack’ and the classic cheese burger are two favourites, we particularly like vegetarian ‘Shroom’ burger – it’s made with a massive crispy portabello mushroom, topped with colby and cheddar cheese before being glazed in the house’s signature Shack sauce.

Black Tap
This newly opened bar and restaurant is getting a lot of love from the locals mainly because of its insane shakes, generous portion sizes and its edgy underground décor. If you haven’t yet been, expect a vast selection of burgers that range from the ‘Greg Norman’ (wagyu beef topped with house buttermilk-dill, blue cheese and arugula) to ‘The Mexcio City’ (a prime burger served with jack cheese, pickled jalepeños, chipotle mayo and crispy onion rings). Aside from burgers, Black Tap is home to a number of moreish sides. The truffle fries and teriyaki fries are ah-maz-ing.

Hard Rock Cafe Dubai
With live music, great service and mouthwatering food, Hard Rock Café Dubai has all of the ingredients needed to make it one of the city’s best burger joints. All burgers come with a melt-in-your-mouth beef patty and a side of fries. Toppings like caramelised onions, turkey bacon and pico de gallo give the burger a nice added flavour while, the large portions are sure to leave you satisfied.

Five Guys
With just two options on offer; the classic cheeseburger and the hamburger, you could say that Five Guys’ approach to food lays with quality rathan than quantity. Given the fact that the venue is almost always full, it’s safe to say that this minimalistic approach has for the most part been successful. Its toppings game is just as strong as its burgers – expect to devour everything from grilled mushrooms, onion rings and more.

The Slider Corner
As its name suggests, burgers take on a smaller portion here. But while they may be small, they are, as the saying goes, fierce. All of the slider options (you can order everything from crab cakes to beef and chicken sliders) in this equally small venue are presented in quirky, bite-sized buns. We say “quirky” because they come in an array of colours such as red, black, green and blue – the colour you get, depends on the dish you order. The wings and sweet potato fries are worth a try too.

Burger & Lobster
The perfect spot for meat-lovers and pescatarians alike. While this swanky DIFC eatery is perhaps best known for its garlic and lemon glazed wild Canadian lobster, its ‘Beast Burger’ that features a whopping 10oz beef burger and lobster strips is well-worth a try. As is their ‘Hot Mama’ burger; 6oz beef patty served with hot pickles, spicy mayo and Kerala fire hot sauce – delicious.

Brunswick Sports Club
This sports bar is great to catch some football while keeping the belly happy with burgers. Although it’s a sports bar, you don’t need to wait for a major game to enjoy the marvellous beef, lamb and chicken burgers. The veggie option that’s served with a legume patty and grilled halloumi is also worth try.
