This is how you can taste the world's most expensive coffee in Dubai
There are two types of people in the world: coffee connoisseurs; and those who find coffee connoisseurs insufferable. If you’re the former, you’re about to become a few hundred dirhams lighter, if you’re the latter, get ready for a good chuckle while you sip on a cup of instant Nescafe granules.
A café in Dubai is about to roll out the most expensive coffee in the world. ‘The 601 Experience’ at Seven Fortunes Coffee Roasters in Al Quoz has got its hands on Panama Hacienda La Esmeralda Cañas Verdes lot Montana Geisha – only 45.5kgs exist in the world. The naturally processed Geisha was sold at the Best of Panama Specialty Coffee auction for a record price of US$1324.96 (AED 4866.58) per kilogram.
Those who want to sample the exclusive beverage at the event on Saturday, September 30, 2017, will have to stump up between AED250 and AED500 per ticket. An AED250 ticket will get you 15 grams of roasted Esmeralda Geisha Cañas Verdes and entry for two to the ‘601 Experience’. For AED500 you get 15grams of roasted coffee at Seven Fortunes, plus 50 grams of the Esmeralda Geisha Cañas Verdes in beans. The sample must be picked up at the event.
Karim Hassan, Founder, Seven Fortunes Coffee Roasters, said: “The UAE market is hungry for coffee and I’m proud to be the one to bring this record-breaking experience to Dubai. Who knows what the future will bring, but today this coffee is the highest scoring and best tasting coffee among the Global Specialty Coffee Grading System. This is not an opinionated taste, but a proven fact.”
