Festive Celebrations at Ewaan, Palace Downtown

The festive season is now well and truly upon us which means that questions like “what are your plans?” “what are you going to eat” and “where are you going to go” have been regularly uttered from you friends, co-workers and to some extent your family’s lips. Fortunately, we’ve found a place that has anything and everything that you could possibly want and need this festive season.

Said place, Palace Downtown. Why? Because it’s absolutely magical and has a lot (A LOT) of jolly festivities on offer this festive season.
So, without further ado, here is where you and your loved ones should be heading to.

1. Festive High Tea
Looking for something fancy shmancy? You’ll get it here. The setting is opulent – think sofas in shades of deep red, traditional lanterns and lots of fresh flowers.
At Al Bayt, the British tradition of high tea gets an Arabian twist with classics being served alongside sweet and savoury treats created using the finest Middle Eastern ingredients.
Expect tiered trays of delectable pastries, mini muffins, sandwiches and scones, plus a buffet that lets you get second (or even third) helpings of your favourites.
A harpist and violinist will provide the background tunes as you sip on bright, tangy red and white infusions crafted by the tea sommelier. Want to take the experience a notch higher? Opt for the terrace as it offers views of Burj Khalifa.
Where: Al Bayt
When: 2pm-6pm, Every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday
Price: AED160 per person throughout December and AED190 per person from 24-26 December

2. Festive Eve Dinner
The night before Christmas is just as exciting as the next day, so why spend the day behind the stove when you can enjoy a hearty meal made for you? At Asado, (meat lovers take note) you’re promised succulent cuts prepared at the Parilla grill, and it would be a lie if we said that the food doesn’t boast an authentic Argentinian flare - the whole roasted baby goat, hands down, is one of the best dishes we’ve had all year. And, if that wasn’t enough, a live band will be setting the tunes while stunning uninterrupted views of the Burj Khalifa will provide the backdrop for the night.
Where: Asado
When: 6.30pm-12am, Sunday, December 24
Price: à la carte

3. Festive Brunch
If it’s a family-friendly brunch that you’re after, look no further than Ewaan. Aside from seamless service, you can expect a lively feast that caters to the entire family. There are a number of activities for kids, a live band to keep the party going and, of course, stunning views of the Burj Khalifa and the Palace pool – for the best view, we recommend opting for a seat outdoors. The food selection will be just as diverse as the many activities on offer. There will be a number of live cooking stations that will be preparing everything from mouthwatering grilled seafood to succulent roasts and hearty meat cuts to roasted vegetables and more.
Where: Ewaan
When: 1pm-4.30pm, Sunday, December 24
Price: AED550 (including soft beverages), AED700 (including house beverages), AED850 (including premium bubbly and house beverages)

It’s no secret that Downtown Dubai is the place to be on New Year’s Eve show. After all, 1.5 million people flock from all over the world to feast their eyes on the spectacular dance of The Dubai Fountain. So, why not be a part of the fun? Ewaan’s oriental feast will feature everything from live stations (where you can have your meal prepared just the way you like it) to free-flowing bubbly (should you opt for the package). We’re not going to lie, indulging in a mouthwatering meal, sounds like the perfect way to celebrate the beginning of a new year.
Where: Ewaan
When: December 31 from 8pm to 3am
Price: AED1,600 (including soft beverages and indoor seating), AED1,800 (including soft beverages and outdoor seating), AED2,000 (including bubbly and indoor seating), AED2,500 (including bubbly and outdoor seating). 5. NYE Gala
If Dubai’s winter is something that you really look forward to, then we totally get why you wouldn’t want to be indoors this New Year’s Eve. Our suggestion? Head down to Buhayra Lounge. The poolside venue offers private cabanas which makes the celebrations just a tad bit more exclusive. The best bit? You will still be able to watch the magical and world-renowned Downtown Dubai show. Aside from a great view and a bit of added privacy, you’ll be spoilt for choice with an international buffet and bubbly.
Where: Buhayra Lounge
When: 8pm-3am, Sunday, December 31
Price: AED1,800 (including soft beverages) and AED2,500 (including bubbly). Children aged 6 to 11 pay AED900. Children aged five and below dine for free.
