Did this Dubai man plan the most extravagant proposal ever?
These days, there’s a lot of pressure to plan the perfect proposal – so much so that there are companies you can pay to do it for you. One of these companies got a phone call from a man with a grand plan, and an even grander budget.
The Proposers, a UK-based company who specialise in helping people pop the question, got a call from a Dubai-based property developer who had a budget of AED1 million.
Stage one of the proposal started on a yacht in the Mediterranean, followed by a helicopter ride to a hotel in the cliffs above Monaco. She walked through the hotel’s archways with notes scattered everywhere explaining why he loved her and illustrations of them together. And if that doesn’t sound romantic enough… The proposers founder Daisu Amodio told The Independent, “I spent about £20,000 (AED9,0260) just on the flowers.”
They were serenaded by a jazz band on a terrace, and a sign saying “marry me” appeared.
If you’re thinking, “sure, that sounds extravagant, but quite low key” then just wait until you hear the next bit. They entered a cave with a vintage cinema to watch a video full of messages from family and friends – and celebrities, because of course.
They finished with a band playing for them beside a wishing well, with a surprise appearance from all of their family and friends.
If he spent that much on the proposal, we dread to think how much the ring set him back!
