Maximizing their efforts, Dubai is about to introduce more than 1,300 trips on the Dubai Metro, nearly 12,000 taxis, additional bus routes, and even marine transits during the Fifa World Cup to enhance the experience for Emiratis and foreign residents alike. The taxi services will be available around the clock during weekends and public holidays and the Hala cabs can be booked through the Careem app.

Prepared For The Tourist Surge

Between kick-off on November 20 and the final on December 18, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is preparing for an influx of visitors. Huge crowds are anticipated at fan zones throughout the UAE.

An exclusive bus service with a fleet of 60 buses will take passengers to FIFA World Cup venues.

The new DWC1 route connects Al Maktoum International Airport (Arrivals) with Ibn Battuta Bus Station via the Dubai Metro Expo Station every 30 minutes, 24/7, every day of the week.

This route will only be accessible until December 20. The second route is F55, a metro feeder link service that connects Al Maktoum International Airport and Dubai Metro Expo Station. It runs from five in the morning to twelve at night and has a 30-minute frequency.

The third route, N55, operates a night service from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day between the Expo Metro Station and Al Maktoum International Airport.

Fan Zones

Fans in Dubai have access to live streaming of FIFA World Cup events at various locations. As the Official FIFA Fan Zone, Dubai Harbour will be a must-visit destination for both domestic and foreign fans.

RTA also provides support for other fan communities in the city like Barasti, Dubai Media City, and Zero Gravity.

Ferries

During the World Cup, RTA will assign two Dubai ferries and one water taxi, and service hours will be coordinated with game times.

The one-way cost of these water transit vehicles, which will run on a line connecting Bluewaters Island and Dubai Harbour, is Dhs25 for the economy class and Dhs35 for the gold class.
