Talk about being creative...

Etihad Airways has partnered with British fashion designer Julien Macdonald to create one of the most stylish safety videos we’ve ever seen.

Entitled “Runway to Runway”, the video directed by Paul Butterworth uses models from IMG and WME model agency, designer dresses (17, to be precise) and behind the runway scenes to deliver a series of important safety messages. It also shows the similarities between the production of a high-end fashion show and the preparation that goes into ensuring a safe and comfortable flight.

Our favourite bits included the brace for impact and life-vest demonstration. We also particularly liked how the models wore oxygen masks for protection from hairspray and how the lady in the crowd was politely asked to take off her massive hat in place in the supplied storage compartment.

This isn’t Etihad’s first venture into fashion. The Abu Dhabi based airline is, in fact, the official airline of the New York Fashion Week. So this stylish collaboration seems only fitting.
