The Codeshare agreement signed between the two airlines results in the expansion
Air Canada’s latest addition of a non-stop flight route is a result of an agreement that happened last week between UAE and Canada with their main agenda being, to enhance the bilateral services. And this agreement set the new Etihad services to Canada in motion.
The official announcement has been made that from the date of May 30, there will be daily flights from Abu Dhabi to Toronto, as there is an increase in the travel demands between the two destinations.
Mark Galarado, senior vice president of network planning and revenue management at Air Canada expressed their happiness in adding the only non-stop service connecting Vancouver and Dubai.
He remarked Dubai is one of the top tourist destinations in the world renowned for its extremely rich culture, heritage, and entertainment, and Vancouver is a top cosmopolitan destination. Galarado states how the new route will offer ease to global visitors looking to experience British Columbia’s amazing natural beauty, range of outdoor activities, and all the adventure one would have there. ‘
Mark Galarado added that in cooperation with their codeshare and frequent flying partners, Emirates, their Vancouver-Dubai flight service will be connecting a wide range of destinations across the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and East Africa in Dubai, providing the clientele with choice and convenience while traveling for business or visiting near and dear ones.
Headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, Air Canada is the largest airline in Canada with respect to its size and the passengers carried. Established as Trans-Canada Airlines in 1936 it was later renamed Air Canada following government approval. The Canadas flag carrier provides chartered air transport for passengers and cargo over 220 destinations across the globe.
Since last year there have been various agreements signed between both nations related to their flight services and gaining access to a lot of new destinations across the countries. In 2022, both airlines established a codeshare agreement.
Simply known as codeshare, It is an agreement between two or more airlines where they broadcast and market the same flight under the banner of their own airline designator and flight number as part of their schedule.
As a result of the codeshare agreement, the airlines are now covering 46 destinations across North America, Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
