American RnB singer Chris Brown has been announced as one of the headline acts for Redfest DXB 2017. He’ll be joined by Australian electropop duo The Veronicas and emerging singer/songwriter Daya for the two day festival.

This is the first line-up announcement for the two day festival, which will take place at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre on February 2 and 3. More acts will be announced soon.

Chris Brown is known for his Billboard-topping hits like “Beautiful People”, Yeah 3x” and “Don’t Wake Me Up”. The singer, songwriter, dancer (and even occasional actor), is rarely out of the headlines for his explosive career and similarly explosive private life. He continues to brush off the controversy and put out new music, like recently released track “What Would You Do” which he teased on Instagram saying: “…I’m just gonna turn the other cheek. Drop some music.”

Dance-pop twins The Veronicas will join Brown on the line-up. They’ve been making waves in their home country, Australia, since their 2005 debut album, The Secret Life of… Since then they have crossed continents with singles like “You Ruin Me” which topped the charts in Australia and charted in the US and the UK.

You may not be familiar with the third name on the list, but you’ll almost certainly have heard one of her tracks. Daya is an upcoming singer/songwriter from Pennsylvania. At just 17, she’s already released a song that’s charted across the world – “Hide Away” made it to number 6 in Australia and 23 in the US.

We’re excited to hear who else will take to the stage in Media City. Stay tuned for another announcement.

Tickets to Redfest DXB will be available from Wednesday for Virgin Megastore members. The general sale will open on Thursday at Virgin Megastore and ticketmaster.ae.
