EXCLUSIVE: Robert De Niro set for Dubai visit



Hollywood superstar Rober De Niro is set to touch down in Dubai next week – but this time, he’s not here to promote a new movie. The 73-year-old actor and producer, who has starred in over 100 films, is coming to the UAE on business, to attend a conference on Caribbean islands Antigua and Barbuda, along with a travel delegate visiting the UAE.

De Niro will be one of many guests at an exclusive event in Dubai’s Palazzo Versace Hotel which will highlight the island’s investment potential to people in the Middle East. Antigua and Barbuda are becoming popular destinations for businessmen and woman due as it offers investment which is free from the likes of personal tax and capital gains tax.

The Goodfella’s actor is one of several A-list stars who have invested in the Caribbean tourism industry in recent years. He plans to build a $250 million mega-resort in Barbuda, covering a whopping 391-acres. According to a report by the Caribbean Journal, the actor’s project, which will be branded The Paradise Found Hotel, is “very much on track”.

After announcing the project, De Niro was named an economic envoy for the country and has helped pitch for investment in the United States. It’s expected that he will play a similar role in the Middle East.
