In a heart-warming family video posted on Instagram, HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, can be seen helping a giant turtle back into the water.

The video was uploaded to HH Princess Haya bint Al Hussein’s Instagram account, along with the caption: “The desert and the sea are equal parts of the UAE heritage, but not all people know them both as well as Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid.”

In just 12 hours the short clip received 30.1k views and 193 comments, as many expressed their adoration. One Instagram user commented, “This makes me HAPPY”, while another said, “Thank you for sharing this lovely moment! Did you notice that pat on the back when he made it successfully to the sea? No wonder he is an inspirational and ever motivating leader!”

The exact location of the video is unknown but there is a strong focus on turtle conservation in the UAE. Four different species are found in the UAE’s waters; the green turtle, the hawksbill turtle, the loggerhead turtle and the leatherback turtle. All of them are listed as endangered species.

The largest turtle species found here is the leatherback, which can grow to a whopping 10 ft in length!
