Sheikh Mohammed leads Dubai’s impressive UAE Flag Day celebrations

November 3 marks UAE Flag Day, and all over the United Arab Emirates you can see special displays to celebrate. Today, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum,Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, hoisted the UAE flag in Zabeel Park in front of 20,000 students, representing 120 different nationalities.

UAE flag day is a special occasion for both UAE nationals and expats. It marks a celebration of pride for the seven emirates, coinciding with the anniversary of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s assumption of office.

During the flag celebrations in Zabeel Park today, some of the 20,000 students wore coloured caps and held up coloured cards in red, white, black and green to make a huge flag.

Elsewhere in the city, celebrations are going strong. Pictures from the Burj Khalifa show a crowd carrying large UAE flags, and ‘At The Top’ posted a boomerang video of a flag waving over the edge.

Jumeirah Beach Hotel got arty this year, by drawing a massive message in the sand which reads “UAE FLAG DAY 3. November”.
