Pitbull to perform Abu Dhabi F1 after-race concert

Grammy Award-winning rapper Pitbull has been announced for Thursday night of the Yasalam after-race concerts at Formula 1 Abu Dhabi 2016. The “We Are One” and “Greenlight” artist will kick-off the Grand Prix weekend’s after-race line-up at du Arena on November 24.

Pitbull’s 2014 hit “We Are One” was the official theme tune of the 2014 FIFA World Cup – but he’s probably best known for chart toppers like “Give Me Everything” and “Timber”, which held 20 number one positions worldwide.

“We are delighted to include Pitbull in the star-studded line-up of Yasalam after-race performers, adding even greater value for all F1 ticket holders and making Thursday one of the best days of race weekend for all-round entertainment,” said Al Tareq Al Ameri, CEO of Yas Marina Circuit. “Make sure you have your tickets and don’t miss out!”

He joins The Chemical Brothers, Rihanna and Lionel Richie on the after-race line-up.

Dance duo The Chemical Brothers will play on Friday November 25. The English double act, Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons, have become world-famous off the back of songs such as “Galvanize” and “Hey Boy Hey Girl”. Their most recent album, Born in the Echoes, which was released last year, is their first studio album since 2010.

Musical legend Lionel Richie will take to the stage on the Saturday of Yasalam’s after-race concerts. The 67-year-old icon is famous for his massive hits including “Hello” (yes, he released it before Adele) and “Endless Love”. As well as his soulful love songs, he’s known for upbeat tracks like “Dancing on the Ceiling”.

Rihanna, who will perform on Sunday, November 27, is currently one of the biggest names in music. She’s the first artist to sell 100 million digital singles, and following an exciting collaboration with Manolo Blahnik, she’s also hot property in fashion circles. With her fourth studio album Anti having been released in January this year, the Barbadian singer is topping charts with new material such as “Work” featuring Drake.

Tickets are available at Virgin Megastore’s 12 outlets throughout the Middle East as well as in all Etihad Shops, online at and through the Yas Marina Circuit Call Centre (800 927) or +971 (0) 2 659 9800
