6 things to do in Dubai this week

Laughter Factory
If there’s a time we all need a good laugh it’s during the penny-stretching days January throws at us. Fear not, we have just the ticket to tickle your funny bones. The Laughter Factory have secured stand-up sensation Sofie Hagen to get you LOLing.
If you haven’t heard of Hagen, you soon will. Since winning the Best Newcomer award at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe, the 28-year-old Danish comic has landed mainstream TV slots in the UK and is now ready to wow the Middle East.
Also on the January line-up is a return visit from comedy rocker Rob Deering, known as the “looping comedian” who, during his part stand-up, part-rock show routine, blasts all stuffy musical stand-up clichés into touch the minute he straps on his trusty Fender Stratocaster. And rounding off the bill is Jack Dathel, an award-winning comedy veteran who brings three decades of stage experience to the party.
When: January 19
Where: Grand Millennium Dubai, www.dubai.platinumlist.net

His recent EP “Stimulate” offers the ideal introduction to his sound.
