UAE mall creates pink parking bays exclusively for women

Finding a parking in nation’s capital just got a whole lot easier for ladies, more specifically those who like to shop. Yep, Al Wahda Mall in Abu Dhabi has officially become the first shopping centre to offer ladies their very own parking area.

That’s not all. The 80 parking bays have been painted pink – we guess that’s to make the area stand out. The free ladies parking can be found on the ground floor of the mall and the extension area. Nice.

If you’re wondering why they’ve done this, it’s simple – to keep them coming back.

Mohammed Nauman Thakur, General Manager, Al Wahda Mall explains: “More than 50 per cent of the shoppers at Al Wahda Mall are women, hence we are always looking at providing them with the best shopping experience and clubbing it with convenience and ease.”

“Reserved parking spaces for women shoppers, encourages them to visit the mall more often and eases out their woes to look out for parking giving them a feeling of oneness with the mall.” See, we told you.

The introduction of Al Wahda’s ladies only parking space is just one of the few services offered to the women in region. Dubai Roads and Transport Authorities (RTA) have their own very fleet of taxis dedicated to ladies and, as of early last year, the cabs with cute pink roofs that are driven by women can also be used by families.

The Dubai Metro also has its very own cabin dedicated to ladies.

There’s also a number of ladies gyms in the region such as the Fitness First in Uptown Mirdif, Exhale Fitness Studio in JBR and Jumeriah’s Dubai Ladies Club.
