His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, shared an adorable video of a baby giraffe on Instagram over the weekend.

The short clip shows the calf lying down in the sand, and then standing next to a larger giraffe which we assume is his mother.

The Crown Price captioned the picture, “The circle of life. #newborn make giraffe help me with a name…”

As you would expect, people are responding in their thousands. At the time of writing, the video had been viewed almost 500,000 times and gained almost 18,000 comments.

Suggestions so far include “Garfen”, “Ghamiza”, “Zareef”, “Hope” and “Future”. Many people have suggested “Zaffran”, which means victory.

It’s not clear how old the calf is, however, baby giraffes can stand and walk just an hour after they are born.

Last week Sheikh Hamdan shared a few pictures of himself watching the giraffes from his car. He is known for his love of animals, and his Instagram feed is full of spectacular photographs of nature up close.
