Dubai to build homes for low income workers

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, has just signed off a new deal to ensure that all those living in Dubai will receive adequate housing.

The deal will see old areas in the city receive make overs as well as the introduction of new homes for those with low incomes.

While we do not know when or where the construction of the new houses will take place, we do know that they will be available to both local and international citizens as well as families who fall under the low income policy.

During the meeting held at the Union House, Sheikh Hamdan not only introduced the new housing project which will be built in cooperation with various real estate developers, he also launched a new group, the Social Responsibility Work Team.

The team which will fall under the Social Development Committee of the Executive Council will include a number of businessmen and public bodies and will aim to organise and advance all types of community work in Dubai. It will also focus on various social needs and dedicate initiatives and programmes for the nation’s martyrs.

Speaking on the project, Sheikh Hamdan told national news agency, WAM, that: “We all have a shared responsibility to spread happiness among all members of the society through providing them and their families with decent lives. Our ambitions in Dubai have no end and every new project we announce represent the fruit of hard work made by various work teams.”

Secretary General of the Executive Council of Dubai Abdullah Al Shaibani added that the Dubai government is ready to find solutions and meet the changing needs of all community members at all times.
