Dubai breaks world record for fastest police car
It’s official! Dubai has the fastest cop car in the world. And that’s not just us doing some quick calculations, but the Guinness World Records saying so.
The book has just presented a certificate to Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, commander in chief of Dubai Police in recognition of its use of Bugatti Veyron as a patrol car.
Just how cool is this car? Well it costs a mega AED5.87m to buy and can reach an incredible top speed of 407km/h. Best of all, it goes from zero to 100km/h in only 2.5 seconds. This makes it faster than the previous record holder in the US, where cops there had a Lamborghini that reached 360km/h.
This isn’t of course the only fancy car that the Dubai cops have in their garages – also in the fleet are an McLaren MP4-12C, Lamborghini Aventador, Ferrari FF, Mercedes SLS AMG, Roush Mustang, Bentley Continental GT, Audi R8 V01 Plus, Aston Martin One-77, Nissan GTR and Mercedes SL36 AMG. Also included are the BMW M6 Gran Coupe and Mercedes G36 AMG, modified by Brabus.
So anyway, if you are being chased by a Dubai Police car for any reason, looks like they will catch you pretty fast.
