Someone tweeted Du asking them to take orphans to the cinema and the response was perfect
“How many retweets for…” is something that has been going around Twitter for years (recently Mercedes hilariously trolled one social media user who wanted a free car for 20 million retweets). But one Twitter user in the UAE had a much more generous reason for his request.
Dubai-based banker @HSajwanization said, “Yo @dutweets how many retweets to take 25 #orphan kids to watch #TheBossBaby @DWAnimation movie this #DuTuesday?” And instead of jumping on an excellent marketing opportunity to get a load of retweets, Du gave the perfect response.
The telecommunications company replied: “Oh my! YES YES! No retweets needed! And since it’s #duTuesday, we’ll make them 50! What do you think @voxcinemas? Tomorrow?”
Seeing as this is Dubai, it didn’t stop there, and Vox upped the offer. “Why not? Since it’s #duTuesday, we’ll make it a 100 tickets! How about we throw in some @pepsi and popcorn too?”
The tweet thread was full of retweets, favourites and messages of support, with people pleased to see such kindness. After everything was arranged, Vox Cinemas tweeted to let everyone know that they will share the fun day on their social media pages tomorrow.
And even before Du replied confirming that they were happy to help, others stepped in to say that they would pay out of their own pockets.
@Leila1H said: “I am willing to pay for their tickets from my own pocket.. just tell me when, and how much.”
While @5leeefa said: “And I will pay for 25 more, just tell me when and how much.”
