Afrojack and Rick Ross heading to Base Dubai this weekend

Following on from a massive opening weekend with Axwell and 50 Cent, Dubai’s new open-air club BASE has announced the line-up for next weekend… and it’s big.

World-famous DJ Afrojack will be behind the decks on Thursday, May 4 (Star Wars day, by the way), and award-winning Rick Ross will perform on Friday, May 5.

Grammy award winning DJ and producer Afrojack is synonymous with festival headlines around the world. The Dutchman currently sits at number eight on the Top 100 DJ list. His 2010 floorfiller “Take Over Control” quickly became a clubland classic around the world and since then he’s put his name to a Tomorrowland anthem. “The Way We See The World” was a collaboration with Afrojack, Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike and Nervo – and if you haven’t heard it, rectify the situation below immediately.

Rick Ross will bring a completely different vibe to the new club in d3 on Friday night. Probably most famous for his 2006 hit “Hustlin’”, Ross also runs his own record label Maybach Music Group. The American rapper was the first artist signed to Diddy’s management company (Diddy as in P Diddy, Puff Daddy, Puffy… or Sean Combs, if you can’t keep up). Having recently dropped his ninth studio album, Ross is showing no sign of slowing down.

The club will open its doors at 10pm and, seeing as it’s the first season, its free entry all night long. There are over 100 tables available to book, with packages starting from AED2,000.

BASE launched at the end of April in Dubai Design District (d3) with Axwell and 50 Cent on the bill. Promising to rival the best nightclubs in Ibiza and Las Vegas, the venue is claims that we will see a string of A-listers in 2017.
