Mike Tyson has just revealed plans for his Dubai boxing academy

Mike Tyson has just revealed details of the Mike Tyson Academy.

During the exclusive preview held at Ossiano at Atlantis, The Palm, Tyson announced that aside from Dubai and Abu Dhabi he plans to expand his academy’s reach to 12 countries such as Cyprus, France, Pakistan and New Zealand.

The 50-year-old boxing heavyweight, along with members of his team, also showed a preview rendering of the academy.

The rendering featured four proposed gym structures, includeding a premier gym, full-service gym, standard and express gym. They will all be equipped with a boxing ring, training area, MX4 training bays, group training and fitness classrooms.

Trainers will have a Mike Tyson Certificate and will use Mike Tyson’s fitness techniques and discipline to be able to work and manage clients in the gym.

The bigger academies (we’re not sure which ones they are yet) will also feature Tyson’s Memorabilia Museum, a juice bar and spa amenities.

When previously asked about why he chose Dubai to make this milestone announcement, Mike said, “Dubai has established itself on the world map by hosting many leading sporting events and icons and there is definitely a niche in this market for a fitness centre that is associated with quality and driven by a hard-core, challenging philosophy like mine.

“I strive to maintain consistency across all my centres with trainers that have been certified by me as well as exceptional training staff who will be on site to ensure a certain benchmark is maintained. I am positive that this is going to be only the beginning of a long-running successful association between myself and the region.”
