Sheikh Mohammed met Queen Elizabeth II at the Epsom Derby
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai made his way to Epsom, England, this weekend.
The 67-year-old Dubai ruler was joined by his wife Her Royal Highness Princess Haya bint Al Hussein and his son Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Price of Dubai.
Aside from watching the fast paced annual race, that saw Wings of Eagles take home the grand prize, Sheikh Mohammed used the occasion to catch up with members of the British royal family, including Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The night’s other winners included none other than Sheikh Hamdan. The 34-year-old took home the 1700-metre Princess Elizabeth Stakes trophy after Laugh Aloud of Godolphin placed first in the category.
The Crown Prince shared a number of snaps of his action packed trip with his 5.4 million Instagram followers which included a picture of him and his dad.
The snap, which shows the two rulers looking smart in grey suits, has proven to be a hit with his fans with over 135,000 likes in just 19 hours.
This isn’t the first time that Sheikh Hamdan has shared behind the scenes snaps of his family in the UK. Last year, he shared a picture of himself and his father on the tube in London.
In fact, Sheikh Hamadan, or Fazza as he is affectionately known by his adoring fans, attended the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Before that he also attended the same military academy as Prince William and his brother Harry - the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst.
