The next time you find yourself on a bit of a shopping splurge, you’ll no longer need to worry about carrying your bags.

Thanks to a neat new initiative called “Hands Free Shopping” you’ll be able to pile up as many clothes, home décor goods and whatever else you fancy without having to worry about carrying it.

The only catch is that you’d have to do this so called “hands free shopping” at Mall of the Emirates.

The mall has partnered with Fetchr (a local courier service) to allow shoppers to have their bags sent wherever they need them.

The service launched on Thursday, June 15, and all you need to do in order to use it is deposit your bags at one of the many “collection desks” and give them your delivery address. Just remember to add the shipping fee to your budget as a standard shipping fee applies.

With Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) around the corner (just 11 days to go), the initiative could not have come at a better time.

The 20th edition of DSS will kick off on July 1 and last until August 12 – that equals 43 days of sales and prizes.

You can expect retail promotions and discounts across Dubai’s shopping malls, as well as plenty of big competitions on the go (sometimes you can even win cash prizes).

Thousands of outlets will be offering discounts of up to 75 percent. Of course, there’s also entertainment. Arabic concerts, Modhesh World and performances will be taking place around the city.

The DSS is probably one of the most highly anticipated sale on Dubai’s calendar, so news that it’s going to be on for a full six weeks is going to be music to every shopping addict’s ears. And, thanks to “Hands Free Shopping”, you’ll no longer need to worry about lugging tones of bags around.
