The Laughter Factory
Gail Clough has been bringing over the best comics from London’s famous Comedy Store for 22 years now, packaging up monthly mini comedy tours for three comedians at a time for eight or nine shows across the Gulf.
For the summer, though, Gail has decided to expand the tour’s horizons, offering a pop-up version, with shows at new venues in the Media One Hotel (Wednesday, July 12, 8pm) and Jumeirah Golf Estates (Friday, July 14, 7pm).
“The Laughter Factory is not just about the world class acts on stage,” Clough says, “we are proud to say we have a wonderful comedy-literate audience that has grown with us over 21 years. Now it’s time more people got the Laughter Factory feeling.”
The three acts up this month are Ben Norris, Pierre Hollins and Rich Wilson.
Tickets for the shows are AED140, although there is a pre-show drinks and buffet package available before the Grand Millennium gig (Thursday, July 13) for AED260.

The Sound Of Bowie
Incredibly, it’s already been 18 months since the passing of David Bowie but the sense of loss is still palpable. This tribute show is, then, much welcomed, especially as it is being led by leading Bowie tribute act Martin Gough, who launched this show back in 2012. It comprises 24 of the singer’s most famous songs split over two 50-minute halves, with the likes of “China Girl”, “Let’s Dance”, “Sound and Vision”, “Star Man” and, of course, “Heroes” all reproduced with uncanny accuracy. He’ll be supported by Miss Sykes and Punjabi MC.
