Every time we come out the other side of a long weekend it takes a little bit of time to adjust to being back at work. However, it looks like there’s another long weekend to look forward to.

Al Hijri (Islamic New Year) will likely fall on Thursday, September 21 giving most UAE workers a three-day weekend. There’s also a possibility that it could fall on Friday, September 22, however, in previous years there has still been one-day holiday called when Al Hijri fell on the weekend.

Later on in the year it looks likely that there will be a holiday on Thursday, November 30 to mark Prophet Muhammad’s birthday (PBUH).

UAE National Day, which is celebrated on December 2, will fall on a Saturday this year.

Aside from UAE National Day, the other holiday dates are dependent on moon sightings, so we will need to wait until they are officially called before we know for sure.
