An orchestra is holding a concert on Jebel Jais
It’s always a bit tricky to think of a new venue for your event. Something people haven’t seen before. Something “fresh”, “interesting”, “Instagrammable”… all the buzzwords you hear thrown around in ideas meetings. Well get a load of this – Ras Al Khaimah Tourism thought the same, so they have decided to hold a concert on top of a mountain!
Global sensation Vivaldianno – City of Mirrors will see a full-blown orchestra play on Jebel Jais on October 27, 2017. The show, devised by Czech musician and film composer, Michal Dvořák, mixes music (both classical and art-rock) with 3D visual effects and a light show.
All the action will take place 1,600 metres above sea level.
“We are retaining the original score while adding modern instruments the way Antonio [Vivaldi] himself might have included them. The show strives to enforce and emphasise the original music in a contemporary means of expression,” Dvořák explained.
The live performance is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.
Haitham Mattar, CEO of RAKTDA, commented: “We strive to push the boundaries in our efforts to enhance Ras Al Khaimah’s visitor experience, and this latest event is not only a first for the UAE, it will also provide genuine sensory overload at one of the emirate’s most iconic landmarks.”
Tickets for the one-off performance start from AED300 and are available through Virgin Tickets, and PlatinumList. Between October 26 and 28 you can get 20 percent off standard rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn, Ras Al Khaimah.
Vivaldianno ticket holders going to Jebel Jais can reach the concert via free shuttle buses from Ras Al Khaimah Convention Centre on Marjan Island, Al Hamra Convention Centre and Hilton Garden Inn, Ras Al Khaimah. There will be two buses in each venue leaving at 4:00PM and 4:30PM.
