The UAE’s favourite song to prepare for work has been revealed
Your alarm goes off (and if you’re anything like us, you hit snooze six times before actually waking up), you realise it’s a work day, and you drag yourself out of bed. You need some motivation. A song to give you some energy. Something to belt out at full volume while you’re in the shower. What do you play?
Well, the people of the UAE have spoken, and the favourite song to prepare for work has been revealed.
What do you think it is? A classic, probably… maybe something by Bowie or Prince or The Beatles?
It’s "Despacito". Yes, that song by Luis Fonso that follows you around everywhere is the UAE’s favourite song to prepare for work, according to a survey by LinkedIn in conjunction with Censuwide. Apparently 22 percent of people surveyed chose it.
In second place is Rihanna’s “Work” (which is very apt), followed by Eminem’s “Lose Yourself”. “Survivor” by Eye of the Tiger is in fourth place with 15 percent – fair, it is one of the most iconic motivational songs after all. But the one that really baffles us in number five… “Dreams” by The Cranberries – wouldn’t that put you to sleep?
Anyway, the least favourite are also pretty random. “Wonderwall” by Oasis tops the least favourite list, followed by “Waves” by Mr. Probs. Quite frankly, everyone in this office would flip the list around.
Apparently 48 percent of workers think that listening to music helps them concentrate and stay focused, and 51 percent say it keeps them calm. A large chunk (26 percent) play music to drown out the sound of colleagues.
