5 ways to beat the heat in Dubai this weekend
There’s no easy of way of putting this, it’s hot. Not the “it’s just a bit warm” hot. No, it’s the “I feel like my face is melting and all my clothes are sticking to me ”, type of hot.
And while we can’t help with the weather, we can suggest a number of fun ways to help you cool down.
Behold, our list of five ways to beat the heat this weekend.
Get your hands on watermelon softie
Fan of watermelon? Fan of ice cream? If the answer is yes to both, then you’d best make your way down to Salt to try out their limited edition “Watermelon Softie”. Not only will it keep you cool – even if only for a minute, the initiative also supports the local community, as all the watermelons used have been sourced by local suppliers. If you’re in the mood for a bit of scavenger hunt, read the next few words carefully. If you find and buy a watermelon from any of these suppliers – Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah and Al Ain, you can get a free softie on your next visit to Salt. All you need to do is present the watermelon’s sticker.
Where: Various locations across the city
Price: AED21 per watermelon softie
Head to Aquaventure Waterpark
There’s no shortage of things to do at Aquaventure Waterpark. Thrilling rides? Check. Dolphins? Check. Sharks? Check. A mega zip line to see it all? Check and check. In fact, you should probably be well on your way by now. Once you're there be sure to check out the Leap of Faith, it's a 9-storey high water slide that sees you go plummeting down a vertical half pipe before entering a clear acrylic tube that's filled with sharks and sting rays – wow. If waterparks aren’t really your thing. Aquaventure is also home to a private beach. The best bit? If you pay with your MasterCard, you can get up to 20 percent off on your experience.
