7 things to do in Dubai this week
Long, bleak week of work ahead? Say sayonara to those Sunday blues, because there's a whole load of new stuff happening around town that will put the wind back in your sails. From movies under the stars to healthy eating made easy, here are seven things to try over the next seven days.
Brunch out loud
Lucky Voice, Grand Millennium Dubai, every Friday from 1-4pm
Brace yourself, there’s a new brunch in town and it’s not for the noise sensitive. Lucky Voice is launching a new weekend pastime that claims to be the “Friday brunch to end all brunches”. While we’re not sure about that, we do know that DJ Jonno Blandford will be pumping out house tunes while singing competitions will erupt throughout the venue. All in the name of amazing prizes, of course. As for the actual eating part, expect plenty of snack and finger foods alongside your three courses from AED195. Better start warming up those vocal chords.
Al Meydan Road, every Tuesday
Heading to the London-inspired club on a Tuesday just got a little cheaper. Well, for one half of the population – but fun can be had for all. Ease your midweek blues with local live music and plenty of drink offers from 8pm.
Cinema in the sand
Zero Gravity, January 27
Good nights out don’t have to result in sore heads the next morning. Sink your feet into the sand as you watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens instead. Be ready with popcorn by 8pm, just bring your AED50 ticket fee.
Where to eat
Jumeirah Al Naseem, Fri-Sat 10am-4pm
The New York burger joint is now serving breakfast, and the menu is all that. Eggs Benedicts with slow-roasted beef? Try stop us.
Sheikh Zayed Road, until March 16
With the Six Nations Rugby kicking off on February 2, we’re all in need of a place to chow down pub grub as we watch the games unfold. Spike Bar – located within Emirates Golf Club – has got it all. Head down while one of the matches is on and take advantage of the hops and burger for AED89 offer. There’s a cracking view of the city to soak up, too.
