World Art Dubai returns
Regardless of whether you’re a long-time collector or simply take a passing interest in the world of contemporary art, head down to Dubai World Trade Centre between Wednesday April 3 and Saturday April 6. The region’s largest and most affordable art fair, World Art Dubai, returns for the fifth consecutive year and this time it’s bigger and better than ever before.
Renowned international artists, including Marcin Rogal from Poland, who is better known as MrArtPride, and Spain’s multi-award-winning August Vilella, will exhibit at this year’s show and local creators, such as speed painter Victor Sitali and Emirati calli-graffiti artist Dia’a Allam, will also be on display.
The new wave of talent will also be acknowledged with the inaugural Emerging Artists Competition and Exhibition held in collaboration with Rove Hotels. Some of those making their way in the industry, aged 18 and above, have been shortlisted to showcase selected pieces at Rove Hotels with ten artists invited to display at World Art Dubai’s new feature, Rove Cafe. The event will also host an impressive collection of more than 3,000 artworks from renowned galleries and solo artists from over 30 countries.
Those attending the event should be aware that there will be plenty of opportunities for you to get involved as well, it’s not just about simply walking around and looking at paintings on walls.
Self-taught artist Franck Noto (Zest) will be hosting a graffiti workshop to teach visitors the tricks of the trade and Ella Elenzano-Orencillo, a Filipina artist, will be customising pieces of clothing, as well as bags and accessories, absolutely free of charge. Bit of a culture vulture? Then why not head down to World Art Dubai for a unique fusion of art, education and entertainment.
