Petrol prices to rise by more than 10 percent this month
If you’re thinking about going for a long drive this weekend, be warned, you may have to spend a little more to fill up that tank.
ENOC have announced on their twitter page the petrol prices across the UAE are to increase by more than 10 percent this month (May).
Motorists are expected to pay AED2.48 per litre for Super 98, which sees an increase of 25 fils (11.2 percent increase) from last April, and AED2.34 per litre for Special 95, an increase of 23 fils (10.9 percent).
As for those that use diesel, expect to pay AED2.53 per litre, which only sees an increase of 4 fils (1.6 percent increase).
Prices are changing due to average global prices, which was a policy set in August 2015 by the UAE’s Ministry of Energy.
