The Dubai Mall hosting Arabic calligraphy showcase
We can’t get enough of all the artsy spots Dubai has to offer, and there’s a brand-new one full of Arabic calligraphy to check out.
Taking place from Wednesday May 15 until Saturday May 18, shoppers be able to see all the stunning Arabic artwork by calligraphers and artists in various languages that detail the history of the UAE.
The artist Jabbari, named one of the Top Public Artists in the World by the International Award for Public Art, will have works featuring ancient Kufi and Maghrebi scripts created with stunning attention to detail.
That’s not all, as Art Noor is presenting a collection of paintings throughout the showcase as well, while a huge interactive cube will educate guests about calligraphy and traditional customs from Wednesday May 15 until Monday May 27 at Bloomingdale’s Atrium.
Think you can create your own masterpiece? Budding artists will also get to create a calligraphy print in Arabic completely for free, thanks to Dubai Culture.
The event will take place daily from 10am until 1am at The Dubai Mall, so there’s plenty of time to check it out.
There’s other ways to get creative in Dubai, as Italian restaurant Larte is calling on artists to take part in a special competition that will see the winner get a year’s supply of free pizza.
As for other artistic adventures, take part in this limited-time night photography tour of Old Dubai.
