Spotify Lite launches in the Middle East
We all have those times when we’re rocking out to a new tune only for it to stop just when it’s getting to the good part all because of network connectivity. Well this new app will never let the music stop blasting.
Spotify has officially announced the launch of Spotify Lite in the UAE – a small, fast, and simplified version of the main app with a few extra features so everyone can enjoy its music.
Ideal for older devices and operating systems including all Android phones running version 4.3 or higher, the app comes with the ability to set a data limit and get a notification when you reach it.
Better yet, it only takes 10MB to install, meaning it won’t take up too much room for phones with limited storage space.
“Spotify Lite was built from the ground up based on user feedback from around the world, allowing millions more to enjoy the world’s best music experience — especially in areas with limited band-width and phone storage,” said senior product manager at Spotify Kalle Persson.
Lite can be downloaded separately, both for free and Spotify Premium users, and used either alongside or independently from the main Spotify app on all Android phones running version 4.3 or higher.
You’ll still be able to search and play your favourite songs and artists, save them, share with others, discover new music, but now in a bite-sized form. Low storage will be a thing of the past.
More features and improvements will follow the launch of the app. For more info, visit Spotify’s support pages right here.
It’s now available on the Google Play store, so get it downloaded and start saving some space.
