Happy Valentine’s Day to those of you who are celebrating. We’ve got plenty in store if you are, and just as much if you aren’t. The next few days bring some exciting events with G-Unit hip hop artist Lloyd Banks making an appearance at Provocateur and sports stars heading to Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship. We’ve also got an evening brunch, a new movie and a bit of comedy in case you get bored.

Valentine’s Day
Instead of giving you one option here, we’d given you loads. Last minute couples, check out the dining deals here. Singles looking to party, check out the “anti-Valentine’s” night here. Need a gift for a special someone? Check our round up here. Don’t worry, we’ll let you take all the credit.

Lloyd Banks at Provocateur
Hip hop powerhouse Lloyd Banks is heading to Provocateur this Wednesday. Fans of G-Unit will know banks as a member of East Coast group G-Unit, along with 50 Cent and Tony Yayo. Expect a solo set full of big tunes and even bigger bling. Tickets are AED300.
When: Wednesday February 17, 11pm to 3am
Where: Provocateur, Four Seasons Resort, +971 55211 8222

Dubai Duty Free Tennis
Serena Williams may have pulled out recently, but Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships is still set to be a fantastic event. Big names set to take to the court include Novak Djokovic, who will be swinging for his fifth Dubai Duty Free title.
When: February 15 to 27
Where: Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium, www.dubaidutyfreetennischampionships.com

The Laughter Factory
This week’s line-up includes witty gags from Andrew Bird, Luke Toulson and Simon B. Cotter. Thursday sees The Laughter Factory pitch up at Movenpick JBR. Expect close to the bone humour, washed down with house beverages and snacks. Tickets AED140.
When: Thursday February 11, 9pm
Where: Movenpick, JBR, +971 4 355 1862

Cinema – Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (tba)
If you, like us here at ShortList, find Jane Austen’s classic a little soporific, you might just welcome the presence of a few members of the undead to shake things up. Set in the aftermath of the Black Death, zombies have risen and humans are fighting for survival. And rather than focusing on the tangled relationships of the upper classes, the ensemble have swapped their garters for garrottes, their afternoon teas for killing sprees. Enjoyable nonsense.
In cinemas February 11

Zero Gravity’s House Party
One of our favourite ways to wave goodbye to the working week. Between 8pm-11pm, AED295 will get you unlimited food and drinks and guest entry to the party later.
When: Thursday, February 11
Where: Dubai Marina, +9714 399 0009, www.0-gravity.ae
