In a city where innovation and construction are all around us, it’s not surprising that Dubai has another project to add to the growing list. Developer Damac Properties has revealed plans for Aykon City, a cluster of six towers located at Dubai Canal.

The properties are part of a mammoth four million square feet development, comprising of residences, services apartments, hotel residences and office towers – and being modern masterpieces of design, each of the six buildings will feature car lifts to individual units.

With views of Dubai Canal and Safa Park, Damac were keen to make the most of the views. And they’ve done it in style, with ‘Aykon Dare’ – a rooftop on the 80th floor which guests can walk around and admire the sprawling city beyond.

This vertigo-inducing rooftop is part of the 80-floor Aykon Hotel and Residences, and it’s certainly not one for those who are scared of heights. The project also includes a 60-story apartment tower, a five-star luxury residential tower at just 30-floors high, a 63-floor tower with serviced hotel residences and a 65-story office tower.

Aykon City will have luxury leisure areas to go along with its residences and hotel rooms. The plaza will include swimming pools, a beach club, spa, restaurants and cafes, and a private member’s club.

The project is expected to be finished in 2021 and is said to be worth a whopping AED7.4 billion.

This project is just one of many being built along Dubai Water Canal, which is due for completion later this year. A new flyover has already opened over Sheikh Zayed Road as part of the Canal project, for motorists heading north towards the World Trade Centre.

As well as a water canal, the surrounding area will have pedestrian walkways, bridges, running tracks and plenty of spaces to sit and enjoy the view.
