Take a Dubai Police car and a drone, which one do you think would win a race? This is the awesome concept for the World Drone Pix’s promotional video, which was released on Tuesday.

The McLaren takes on the drone, starting somewhere in the desert, and navigated through glowing gates around the streets of Dubai. Like something out of a computer game, the split screen shows each competitor on their speedy journey across the city.

The 1 minute 30 second clip was uploaded to Word Drone Prix’s YouTube channel, along with the caption: “The race is on! His Highness Sheikh Hamdan captures the thrilling future of sport as a McLaren races one of our drones through the streets of #Dubai. Watch the extended cut now.”

Our favourite part of the video, however, comes at the end. At the end of the race the camera pans out to show a young boy standing on the bonet of a Police car holding the drone’s remote control. Whipping off his goggles to reveal himself, it’s none other than Mohammed (better known to Sheikh Hamdan’s Instagram fans as Maj).

The clip, which is sure to be a viral hit, comes just before the World Drone Prix, which is being held at at Skydive Dubai under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, UAE. The Drone Prix will see over 100 racing teams compete from across the globe, with the main events being held on March 11 and 12.
