Rain and thunder expected across UAE

Drivers are being asked to drive with extra care, as rain is set to continue across the UAE on Tuesday and Wednesday. According to The National Center of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS), the wet weather is expected to last for  the next 48 hours.

“Unstable weather, cloudy over most areas, where the amount of clouds will increase over scattered areas of the country including some towering clouds, with rainfall of different intensities,” reads the report from NCMS for today. “Moderate to fresh winds in general, being strong at times with clouds activity, causing blowing dust/sand over the exposed areas and poor visibility at times, with a drop in temperatures. Sea is rough in Arabian Gulf & moderate becoming rough with clouds activity over Oman sea.”

This morning, the national weather center tweeted that there may be rain of different intensities, along with some thunder, across scattered areas of the country. They also tweeted that there was heavy rain in Abu Dhabi, and moderate to heavy rain in Dubai.

As for Wednesday, it looks likes more rain. NCMS predicts “cloudy weather during the daytime, with a chance of scattered rain, especially in the southern and eastern areas.”

Accuweather’s report predicts temperatures in Dubai to reach lows of 20 and highs of 26 in the coming days. The website warns of a thunderstorm on Tuesday, and partly sunny weather with a thunderstorm on Wednesday.

Although NCMS haven’t yet issued a weather report for the weekend, by the looks of other medium range forecasts, it looks like it’s going to be pretty sunny.
